Thomas Joseph Welak

Thomas J. Welak, 88, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026 with his family at his side. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, hard work, and cherished memories with those that knew him best.

Tom married the love of his life, Dianne (nee Steger) on July 2, 1966. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and cherished memories that spanned 6 decades. They were blessed with one daughter Jodie Dreikosen who was the pride and joy of their lives and meant everything to them.

Tom dedicated years of his career to Metalcraft before enjoying a well earned retirement. He took great pride in his work but his greatest joy was always his family.

Tom had a lifelong love of cars and owned over 90 cars in his lifetime. He could spend hours talking about them, not to mention cleaning and waxing all of them. Tom’s vehicles were always spotless!

Above all else Tom treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of his life. Nothing brought him greater happiness than watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments and creating lasting memories together.

Preceding Tom in death include his parents Walter and Laura Welak, brothers John (Millie) Welak, Jim (Dolly) Welak, and Gene (Jeanette) Welak, sisters Mary Welak and Jeanette (Rueben) Fischer, brother-in-law Dennis Schuster, and niece Tammy Schuster.

Survivors include his wife Dianne, daughter Jodie (Craig) Dreikosen, grandchildren Kayla (Grant) Dreikosen and Jordan (Lydia) Dreikosen, bonus granddaughter Amanda (Owen) Gellings, great grandchildren Quinn, Lainey, soon to be Baby Dreikosen, Carter, and Haven, sisters-in-law Jean Schuster and Lilyanne Steger, brother-in-law David (Carol) Steger, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful Staff at Hospice for their compassionate care and support. We would also like to thank Tom and Diane Zehren; along with all of Tom’s caring neighbors for their kindness, friendship and countless ways you helped Tom. Your generosity, support, and compassion meant more than words can express and our family will always be grateful.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his love and the memories he leaves behind will remain in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be Thursday, July 30th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 406 E. Masin St. Campbellsport.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at the Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Inurnment will be in Union Cemetery in Theresa following the Mass.
