Shirley Fowler-Comens, age 101 years young, of Fond du Lac, was called home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2026, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born on September 23, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to Rufus and Velda (Whittlinger) Powers. Shirley was united in marriage to Roland “Rosie” Fowler on November 23, 1946. Enjoying 3 children and 26 years of marriage until Rosie’s passing in 1972. She was then united in marriage to Arnold Comens on July 3rd 1980. They were married for 29 years until his passing in 2009. She retired from St. Agnes Hospital Radiology Dept. as an X-ray clerk. She enjoyed retirement since the age of 58, traveling, gardening, and crafts.

Those Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children: Lee (Mae) Fowler, Craig Fowler, and Kim (Rich Baguio) Fowler; grandchildren, Travis Fowler, step-grandchildren Tenaj and Brittany Baguio, Ariel Jackson; step-great-grandchildren Dant`e, Jamysyn, Azalya, Iversyn, Kaysyn, Jackson, Jurnee, and Javien.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Roland “Rosie” who passed away in 1972; her second husband, Arnold who passed away in 2009 by her brother Robert (Kay) Powers, and grandson, Shaun Fowler.

VISITATION: Shirley’s family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Twohig Funeral Home ( 305 Fond du Lac Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935)

SERVICE: A Funeral Service in remembrance of Shirley will take place at Twohig Funeral Home at 3:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Rienzi Cemetery.

Memorials in Shirley’s name can be directed to St. Vincent De Paul of Fond du Lac County, Harbor Haven, and Fond du Lac Humane Society.
