Russell M. "Russ" Engels

Russell M. “Russ” Engels, 71, of Fond du Lac, passed unexpectedly and went to his heavenly home on September 1, 2026 at his home.

Russ was born on November 20, 1954 in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Wendell and Gertrude Engels. He graduated from Horace Mann High School. He was a devoted Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Brewers and the Packers. Russ was also a car enthusiast that he shared that passion with his twin brother Rodney. He was always willing to be a pet sitter for family as he enjoyed the company and caring for his family of furry friends. Russ was a very devoted Uncle and always enjoyed his time with family.

Russ is survived by his sisters, Nancy (Rick Ewald) Bindert and Nadine Matthies, his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Adam (Chris), Janis (Ian), Jessica, and Isabella; great nephews and nieces, Evan, Anthony, and Chloe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Rodney, and a nephew Jason.

Per Russ’s wishes private family services will be held and an inurnment at Union Cemetery will be at a later date.
