Robert Lee Westemeier, 90, of Fond du Lac, went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Woodlands Senior Park in Fond du Lac.
Robert was born on February 2nd, 1936 in Fond du Lac the son of Aloysius and Grace (nee Strehblow) Westemeier. On October 11, 1958 Robert was united in marriage with Elizabeth Duley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden. Bob and Betty resided in Eden and spent the remainder of their lives there. Betty and Bob were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden. Over the course of 67 years together, Bob and Betty became avid dancers and became very good together. Bob was a proud member of the Eden Fire Department for over 20 years. Bob was an avid gardener and was very well known for his pickles. He loved fishing and passionately watched the Brewers and the Packers. He also enjoyed watching WWII movies and had a great respect towards all military branches. Bob created a lasting memory by visiting the USS Missouri, where Bob’s brother Richard served. Bob’s family was very important to him, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending as many of their activities as possible.
Bob is survived by her children, Sue (David) Del Ponte, Steve (Dina) Westemeier, and Mark (Marie) Westemeier; grandchildren, Eric (Leslie) Del Ponte, Kyle (Rhianon) Del Ponte, Ryan (Hillary) Del Ponte, Caitlin (Jacob) Casillas, Brandon (Sarah) Westemeier, Ethan Westemeier, Meghan Westemeier, Grace (Dylan) Hielke, and Maddy (Zak) Westemeier-Joyce; great grandchildren, Preston, Hayden, Maverick, Harper, Oliver, August, Ronin, Malakai, and Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Elizabeth “Betty”, both of his parents, and a brother Richard Westemeier.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Woodland’s and SSM Health at Home Hospice. Memorials are appreciated to the Eden Fire Department.
