Robert “Bob” aka “Bird” R. Denslow Jr. passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at Lutheran Home of Fond du Lac. He was born on March 17, 1955, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Shirley (Kaiser) Denslow.
Bird had many talents; he worked as a Machinist, Tool Maker, Model Maker, Programmer, Engineer, and tried his hand as a lab technician. Bird's last role prior to retirement was a Machinist at Mercury Marine for six years. He was a fan of music and had many favorite albums. He served in the US Army in the Vietnam Era and loved his country. He was a lover of dogs, and they loved him. He enjoyed his Friday morning coffee clutches at the Bagel Meister (and all those who joined him), where he was responsible for saving a table for the group.
Bird had many hobbies, including the great outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and volunteering. He and his family enjoyed camping in Wisconsin’s Northwoods in his younger years.. Bird thanks all of those who have provided a helping hand throughout some tough times.
He is survived by his brother Scott (Chris) Denslow, special cousins, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Shirley Denslow.
Memorial service for Bird will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11 am at Twohig Funeral Home (305 Fond du Lac Avenue) with Rev. Crystal Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at Estabrook Cemetery, where full military honors will be held. Bird’s wish was that no one wear black to his funeral.
