Richard “Dick” C. Weis, 74, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly home on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at his home with his beloved family gathered around him. He was born in Campbellsport on August 4, 1950, the son of Gregor and Margaret (Thill) Weis.
On December 30th, 1972, Dick was united in marriage to Kelly Gartland at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Armstrong. He was raised on the family farm and lived all his life there as he and Kelly made it their family home. Dick served in the U.S. Army from 1970 thru 1971. He worked at Kemps Dairy until his retirement. Dick was a great outdoorsman from enjoying picking blackberries and mushrooms to hunting fishing, and planting trees.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife Kelly, son Matt Weis, daughter Betsy (Rocky) West, grandchildren Emma and Ava Weis and Milo, Olivia, and Henry West, siblings Norbert (Ruth) Weis, Doris (Willy) Rusch, Caroline Theusch, Alvin (Gloria) Weis, and Florence (Tom) Flood, sisters-in-law Elaine Weis, Martha Weis, Anna (Norbert) Toonen, and Barb (Lori) Gartland, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Gregor and Margaret, son Gregory, in-laws Bernard and Lee Gartland, siblings Evelyn Beisbier, Eugene Weis, and Lester Weis, and brothers-in-law Cornelius Beisbier and Frank Theusch.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 10th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 10th at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Military Honors will follow and inurnment will be in St. Matthews Cemetery at a later date.
The Weis family extends a special thank you to Preceptor Hospice, especially Renee and to Tom and Netty Weis for their care and concern shown Dick.
