Merlyn E. Kohlman (nee Gordon) of Eden, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center of Fond du Lac. She was born on April 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Byron and Eva Gordon.
She attended Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. She worked at St. Agnes cafeteria for many years with the Sisters of St. Agnes. She married Ambrose W. Kohlman on April 11, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fond du Lac.
She was a stay-at-home mom and was a wonderful, amazing mother and woman in our family. They owned and operated their dairy farm and retired in 1985. Ambrose and Merlyn were custodians of Shepherd of the Hills for many years after. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Those left behind to cherish her memories include her children: Daniel of Ripon, Aleitha Mary (Joe) Marino of Waukesha, Joseph of Fond du Lac, Dale of Waukesha, and Steve (Kay) of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren: Laura Kohlman of Appleton and Andrea Kohlman of Stevens Point and one great-grandson, Alexander Kohlman of Stevens Point. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ambrose in 2015; son Paul (Sharon) Kohlman, daughter-in-law Dede (Foss) Kohlman, sisters Gwen (Ralph) Summers, Zella (Ed) Mumm; nieces Grace (Ray), Byron “Butch”, Pat, and Kathy (Fred).
Christian Funeral Services for Merlyn will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 12 pm NOON at Hope Lutheran Church (260 Vincent St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935) with Rev. Dr. Phillip Enderle officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff, especially Dr. Baum at Aurora Medical Center of Fond du Lac, and special friends Lynn Kohlman, Cindy Bartell, and Judy O’Brien for their love, care, and compassion given to our Mom.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Merlyn’s memory.
