Joseph C. Murphy, 72, of Eden passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at SSM St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1953, in Fond du Lac, the son of Leo C. and Agnes T. (nee Hass) Murphy. On May 5, 1977, Joe was united in marriage to Nancy A. Huebschman in Fond du Lac.
Joe was a 1971 graduate of Campbellsport High School and was class president his senior year. Joe was a dairy farmer in the Town of Eden and in retirement raised and distributed raspberries, a business started by his son Cole; he was just beginning to get his greenhouses ready for the new season. He enjoyed meeting new people distributing raspberries and selling them at farmers markets. Joe was always ready to strike up a conversation with people he met or telling a story or two. He called bingo at the Eden Fireman’s Picnic for over 30 years and was very proud of his Eden roots and his community. Joe was an avid fan of the Brewers, Bucks, Packers, and other area teams; listening to many games on the radio.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years Nancy, his daughters Erin (John Rohlfs) and Kerry (Brian Luecking), his sisters-in-law Carol Murphy and Mary Krueger, his Godson Tim Murphy, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Agnes, his son Cole Murphy, his sister Kathleen Murphy, his brother Jim Murphy, in-laws Ethel and Arlin Huebschman, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Anthony and Sue Schneider, Elroy and Connie Huebschman, David and Rita Huebschman, and Karl Krueger.
Private family services will be held.
Joe loved growing up in Eden and always shared that love with the community, he will be missed.
