John Alan Mondloch passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the age of 63. Born June 20, 1963, to James and Bernadette Mondloch, John had cerebral palsy, and doctors told his parents he likely would not live past age ten. A true fighter, he met his health challenges with a positive attitude and determination. He was a guy with smile on his face and a ‘whatta you gonna do’ attitude that carried him through life and some difficult times.

During John’s youth, he was instilled with a strong, lifelong work ethic to never let his disability become an excuse. He had a strong desire to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. Because cerebral palsy mainly affected his legs, he walked with crutches for most of his life, relying on the strength of his arms to get around. This did not hold him back from working and providing for himself. He worked for Goodwill Industries for 32 years, something he was very proud of.

John enjoyed movies of all genres, sports and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and listening to rock-and-roll music. He especially cherished memories of going to concerts and watching his oldest brother Rick’s bands perform. Although John could not drive, he was an enthusiastic admirer of muscle cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. John had a hearty appetite and he could be counted upon to finish all leftovers and serve as a ‘food critic’.

John had a caring nature and was always looking for ways to help others and make them smile. Later in life, he lived in assisted living, where he found great joy in looking after elder residents—checking on them and offering his assistance. Although his legs didn’t work the best, he recognized that his sharp mind allowed him to be of service to others and his quick wit could always draw a smile on others.

John was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and four of his siblings Rick Mondloch, Scott Mondloch, Julie Mondloch and Maria Mondloch. John is survived his siblings Linda (Jim) Loescher (Adell, Wisconsin), Peggie Mondloch (Las Vegas, NV), Paul (Marilyn) Mondloch (St Roberts, MO) and Sarah (Chris) Sulzen (Casper, WY), along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. John and the family would like to recognize sister-n-law Sherri Mondloch for the many errands and abundant time she devoted to caring for John in his latter years.

A graveside service is planned at St Patrick’s Church, Adell, WI, on Friday, October 30th, at 11am, followed by lunch at a local establishment.

John fondly recalled his childhood—sledding down Bluhm’s Hill, chasing his younger sisters through the house on all fours, and being carried from place to place by his older brothers, along with many other memories. He treasured his family and everyone who loved and cared for him. John will be remembered for his ever-present smile, his ability to make the best of any situation, and the inspiration he quietly offered others.
