Geraldine “Geri” L. Bodden (née Marx), of Kewaskum, WI, 82, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Geri was born August 5, 1943, in Fond Du Lac, WI to the late Clarence and Gladys Marx. Geri was the seventh of eight children born on the family dairy farm in Campbellsport, WI. After graduating from Campbellsport High School in 1961, Geri began her career as a clerical worker at Marigold Foods in Kewaskum. In February 1965, she married Ray Bodden, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. The couple first made their home on Kewaskum Street in Kewaskum before settling into their lifelong residence on Meadow Lane in December 1967.
Together, Geri and Ray built a family, welcoming four children: Christine Ann (1967), Susan Marie (1969), Mark Raymond Joseph (1975), and Ann Marie (1979). Geri loved being a Mom, nurturing her children and creating a home where the cookie jar was always full.
In 1982, Geri began working at Geidel’s Sentry Foods, a career that lasted 28 years. At Sentry, and later Piggly Wiggly, Geri served all of Kewaskum at the bakery/ deli counter. She made some of her most treasured friends at work and enjoyed her standing lunch date with many of those friends throughout her life. In 2004, Geri and Ray’s only grandchild, Luke Joseph, was born to daughter Christine and son-in-law, Lee Fiedorowicz. Luke, now a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, brought much joy to Geri and Ray.
A longtime member of Holy Trinity Parish, Geri was active in her faith community and enjoyed volunteering both at the parish and the Kewaskum food pantry. She loved to cook, bake, and read, and found joy in simple moments shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
Geri’s life was rich with cherished memories: festive Christmas celebrations at home, trips to the Great Circus Parade in Milwaukee, milestone birthdays spent with her sisters, holidays in Florida and in Puerto Vallarta—including a memorable 50th wedding anniversary—and annual visits to Seattle to see their daughter Ann.
Those who knew Geri will remember her warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness—qualities that left an impression on everyone she met. Geri is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Ray Bodden; her children, Chris (Lee) Fiedorowicz and Sue Bodden, both of Waterloo, WI; Mark Bodden of Manitowoc/Kewaskum, WI; and Ann Bodden (Jason Barrett) of Stoughton, WI; her cherished grandson Luke Fiedorowicz; sister Patty Marx; sisters-in-law Barb Marx and Mary Paulus; brother-in-law Paul Bodden; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Marx, and her siblings Clarence Marx Jr., Elaine Krug, Joan Chittum, Charlene Phillips, and Mary Herriges.
