Georgia L. Petersen, 89, of Campbellsport went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Serenity Villa in Campbellsport. She was born in Campbellsport on September 16, 1936, the daughter of Leo and Esther (nee Beyer) Gremminger. On April 14, 1956, Georgia was united in marriage to Duane A. “Pete” Petersen at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.
Georgia worked at F/S Feed Mill and at Bank One in Campbellsport. She was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and sang for many years in the Sunday Morning Choir. She and Pete were members of the Country Club Dancers. Georgia Love reading, her lifelong friends, and the special family bond with Woody and Lila and Mike and Shirley.
Georgia is survived by her son Paul Petersen of Campbellsport, daughter Tara Henke of Beechwood, grandchildren Brandon, Paige, Kaylee, and Kaden, great grandchildren Conley and Colsen, special niece Barb Heisler, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Georgia in death were her parents Leo and Esther, husband Duane “Pete” on August 23, 2017, son-in-law Matt Henke, siblings Jack (Nancy) Gremminger, Nancy (Richard) Carr, and Neal (Patricia) Gremminger, in-laws Alfred and Marian Petersen, brother-in-law Gene Petersen, and sister-in-law Joan Petersen.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 5:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 406 E. Main Street, Campbellsport. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until time of Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
The Petersen family extends a special thank you to the nurses and volunteers of SSM Health at Home Hospice, and the staffs at Compassionate Hande and Serenity Villa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Georgia’s name to the Campbellsport Library or St. Matthew Church.
