Barbara Lee Micheln

Barbara Michelin passed away at her home in Tarpon Springs, FL on August 24th with family by her side. She was born November 28, 1946 to Robert and Mildred Brandl. She grew up in Lakeville Minnesota. She attended Winona State, Minnesota for one year. Then attended broadcasting school in St. Paul, Minnesota. She worked in radio advertising in Green Bay and Oshkosh, WI. She married Louis Michelin on May 26, 1974 in a garden in her parent's backyard. They resided in Oshkosh where Louis worked for the Chamber of Commerce. They moved to Kenosha when Louis took a job to head the Kenosha Chamber of Commerce. During that time, Barb received an associates degree in Interior Design at Gateway Technical College and began teaching Interior Design at Gateway, a job she loved. She loved designing spaces.

Barb retired to Tarpon Spring, Florida in 2014, where she became active in the Women's Club of Tarpon Springs. She also did a great deal of travel, traveling to every country in Europe, and to Cuba

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis, her parents, Robert and Mildred Brandl, her in laws John and Elisabeth Michelin, her stepchildren, Gina Michelin and Todd Michelin, her brother and sister in law, Roger and Jane Michelin. She is survived by a brother, John (Rose) Brandl, a sister in law, Judy (Bob) Peterson, nephews and nieces, Jennifer (Will) Howlett, Ben Brandl, Christy (James) Tyler, Will (Mel Plummer) Brandl, Josh (Martha) Brandl, Ann Heiden, and Doug Micheln, and great nephews and nieces.

There will be a graveside service at a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Union Grove, WI.

Barb's family would like to thank Visiting Angels and Vitas Hospice for making her last days comfortable for her. Thank you to her neighbors who helped her. You are so appreciated for seeing after her when she needed it. Such good friends.
