Gerrit Tyler Graves, 49, of Town of Ashford, Campbellsport, died at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, on Sunday, February 17, 2013.

He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on January 14, 1964, the son of Edson Irving Sr. and Beverly (Kranendonk) Graves. Gerrit was a 1982 graduate of Campbellsport High School and a third generation broom maker, working at Elwing Broom Manufacturing in Campbellsport and also working as a weight trainer at various health centers. Gerrit was a dedicated son, spending most of his time taking care of his parents and his brothers. He enjoyed weight lifting and current events, also poetry writing and comedy. His infectious laugh will be remembered.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his parents, three brothers, Greg Graves of Greenup, Illinois, Steven Graves and Lindley Graves, both of Campbellsport, a sister, Marlene Thomas of Gainsville, Florida, a nephew, Owen Thomas of Gainesville and other relatives and friends. Gerrit was preceded in death by his brother, Edson Graves, Jr., and his brother-in-law Garland “Bud” Thomas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 347 N. Country Lane, Fond du Lac. Memorial gathering will begin at 1:00 PM with a service at 2:00 PM.
